Colon cancer: new insights into drug-resistance mechanisms

   1701

Cancer Research - Scientists demonstrated that Mcl-1 protein is often degraded in cancer cells subjected to effective therapeutic treatment, and this degradation has been associated with intrinsic and acquired drug resistance.

This study shows that Mcl-1 participates directly in determining effective therapeutic responses in colon cancer cells, providing new insights into fundamental mechanisms of drug resistance.
