Cancer stem cells: new therapeutic strategies for metastatic colon cancer
Nature - It has been demonstrated that cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a major role in promoting tumor progression and metastasis. A study conducted by a team of American researchers analyzed the distinct roles played by CSCs in the growth of primary and metastatic tumors. The results of this study suggest that eliminating CSCs may be a therapeutic strategy for managing metastatic cancer.
